    Hi all,

Like U1, Libreelec V8 is coming with Amlogic S912 support (y)
It's Kodi 17 based and promise smoothness for everything.

It's a early beta version yet with lot of bugs or missing things but will evolve quickly.

Right now U1 is a better choice for LibreELEC,

we have been providing resources and support to the developer.

Hopefully U9-H will be also good later.

So how do you get the U9-H to boot fra the USB? The options mentioned on the LibreElec forum doesn't seem to work for me.

I may know a bit about LibreELEC - the root problem we (as in LibreELEC developers) have is there are no Open Source Linux Mali T820 GPU drivers available at the moment due to I believe licensing issues. Hacky Android ones due not make a stable LE S912 platform.

Consequently I can crash Kodi just by pausing video at the moment.

So, user experience question. Anyone who tested latest LE on U9-H (I know it's not and can't be at the moment fully supported) but anyway - what are your experiences, what works and what does not - 1080p,4k,HDR,frame rate switchimg, a/v sync, gui speed etc. compared to Android on U9-H and LE on U1. If anyone tested latest LE builds from kszaq and johngalt.

For me current LE builds on U1 are great, but of course I can't use HDR and 10bit stuff with U1.

    Thank you for your answers.

Never tried on U9, only on U1. It's a very early release, my advise is to wait for a beta version at least.

Anyone succeeded booting Minix NEO U9-H from Micro SD card? Didn't work for me for some reason. Used this device tree:

Didn't have any USB sticks in the box when you tried if so try without
just hold the power button in for a six or so seconds booting from cold

    New LE is out

    8.1.3 (2017-08-06)

Note: The first start with Libreelec and the toothpick mehode does not work well for many devices and also for the U9-h. It is easier to download the Terminal App from the Playstore and type "reboot update". This almost always works. (If it does not, you first enter "su" and then "reboot update" and if it does not work, then install SuperSU in the Playstore.)

Unplug, then plug power cord back in.

Hold in the U9's Power button in till the LE Logo appears - is a far easier method ;)

The method did not work for me on 8.1.3.
Only up to version 8.0.2e worked.
    On 8.1.3 no boot.:(
